SIRE LINE
CIVIC HOPE is a representative of the Northern Dancer sireline through his son Nijinsky and his grandson Whiskey Road. Whilst Northern Dancer and Nijinsky need no introduction to breeders, Whiskey Road is recognized on both the Australian and international stage for his own achievements in the breeding barn. Whiskey Road is best remembered to Australians for two reasons: 1) as being the sire for international champion racehorse sire Strawberry Road and 2) as the broodmare sire of champion retired racehorse Tie The Knot. That Whiskey Road is a recognized and proven sire of sires is confirmed by his son Strawberry Road whose progeny have stood tall in the USA. Now deceased, Strawberry Road has always been able to maintain a winners-to-runners ratio of over 80% which is recognized globally as an astounding accomplishment.
DAM LINE
The dam of CIVIC HOPE is the English racetrack winning mare Grey Mouse who is a granddaughter of legendary sire of sires Grey Sovereign. Grey Mouse is a half sister to the Group 2 English winner Triple First who earned her group glory by impressively winning the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood. The grandam of CIVIC HOPE is the six times English winning mare Field Mouse. Hence, the damline of CIVIC HOPE contains some of the worlds great stallions names such as Petingo (x Petition x Fair Trial), Alycidon (x Donatello), Grey Sovereign (x Nasrullah x Nearco), whilst a line of War Admiral is present on the 5th remove.
